I noticed they were spraying over shelburne, ontario on the 4th, (monday) of august. I got some pictures before my batteries gave out. There were more than a dozen and we don't get much air traffic here so they stood out easily. It went on most of the day. It makes me wonder about what the true purpose of that new air traffic beacon is over in masonville. Keep an eye on the skies people. Call the ptb to account. You have to realize that this is probably only the beginning. When the bottom falls out in the states it will begin a domino effect and unless we can remove some of those dominoes we're in for a fall. Wake up! Store some food. Take care of each other. Learn to live by giving rather than taking. A new paridigm is on the horizon. God be with us all...

I hope I’m not offending the sensibilities of the xenophobes and supremacists when I say that it’s time for Ontario to reform the School System. And there are those who support Premier Dalton who says kids shouldn’t be segregated because they can’t fit into society while he has his kids segregated in Catholic schools. Premier Dalton can point to the supposed peace in our schools as proof they have done a good job. But then the McGuinty government gave in to the teachers’ unions and the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario is now pressing its 70,000 members to vote Liberal. Does all this serve the public good? Down to the final days of this campaign, the Liberal machine continues to fan the fears of voters to distract from the real issues. We’ve all seen the TV adds by the Working Families Coalition an initiative of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association and Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation.

Unfortunately it will be after the election that voters realize that they have had their buttons pushed and strings pulled from behind the scenes by these self-interest groups. Democracy is not being well served. A Charter School System like Alberta's is a first step to reforming the Ontario system and breaking the grip of these self-interest groups on our democracy.

Ramblings on MMP

As parties fracture and more small parties spring up hoping to take advantage of MMP, the remaining dominant political party will win most of the 90 electable seats (more overhang seats) with a smaller average vote. OK the remaining 39 list seats then get divided up between the smaller left and right wing parties and we get to see some fun shenanigans at Queen’s Park but control will still stay with the dominant party that resorts to the same old electioneering tricks. I see the well financed broadly supported promise anything Liberals gaining from MMP. MMP alone won’t give us better government. It still comes down to the expectations voters have of the politicians they elect. Which brings us back to the Democracy Watch Report Card @ http://www.dwatch.ca/camp/RelsOct0507.html .
The party with the lowest grade has the most voter support. What does that say?

Are YOU Voting For:

On Friday, Democracy Watch released its Report Card on the 2007 Good Government Ontario Political Party Election Platforms.

http://www.dwatch.ca/camp/RelsOct0507.html

OVERALL REPORT CARD GRADES

Green Party of Ontario - D
Liberal Party of Ontario - F+
New Democrat Party of Ontario - D
Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario - D

It gives voters an idea of what expectations they should set for their politicians, that's assuming voters realize that there is more payback when we strengthening the whole in the long term vs. selling our votes to the highest bidder at election time.
